Privacy
Your laps are yours.
TRACK privacy policy. Effective 18 October 2026.
In short
- Your sessions, video and location stay on your iPhone. The App Store version of TRACK doesn’t send them to us.
- No advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
- You choose what leaves your phone: a file you export, a video you save to Photos, or a clip you share.
- Cloud features will only arrive with your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Permissions
iOS asks before TRACK can use any of these, and you can change your answers in the iPhone’s Settings.
- Location
- Times your laps and sectors and detects the circuit. Used only while you prepare or record a session, including when the screen is off during a recording.
- Motion sensors
- Measures cornering, braking and acceleration forces during a session.
- Camera and microphone
- Records forward-facing video, and engine and cabin sound if you turn audio on.
- Bluetooth
- Connects to devices you pair: an external GPS receiver, an OBD-II adapter or a GoPro camera.
- Local network
- Connects to a second iPhone or iPad used as a dash display, and copies footage from your GoPro over the camera’s own Wi-Fi.
- Photos (add only)
- Saves the videos you render to your photo library. TRACK never reads your library.
The iPhone app
TRACK stores what it records on your device: GPS positions and speeds, motion-sensor readings, lap and sector times, data from devices you connect, video and audio you record, and what you enter about your cars, setups, tires, equipment and maintenance. TRACK uses this to time laps, analyse your driving and coach you. The analysis, including TRACK Engineer, runs on your phone.
The App Store version of TRACK has no account and doesn’t send this data to us or anyone else. It contains no advertising or third-party analytics code.
Devices you connect
Cameras, GPS receivers, OBD-II adapters and dash displays connect directly to your phone over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Their data goes to your phone, not through our servers.
What you choose to share
When you export your data (Settings › Export all data), share a session or save a video, the file goes where you send it. What happens next is up to the app or person you share it with.
Beta builds
Test builds distributed through TestFlight include an optional feedback tool. If you shake the phone and send a note, we receive the note, a screenshot of the screen you were on, the screen’s name, your device model and the app version. We use these only to fix problems. App Store builds don’t include this tool. Apple’s TestFlight also shares crash reports and feedback with us under Apple’s own terms.
Accounts and cloud features
TRACK accounts and the web app are in early access. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier for that account, plus your name and email (with Apple you can choose to hide your real address). We store your account and the sessions you choose to sync. Our servers are hosted by Fly.io (application), Neon (database) and Cloudflare R2 (file storage).
Optional cloud features, such as cloud backup, the cloud version of TRACK Engineer and sharing sessions with an instructor, are off by default. Each asks for your consent first, and you can withdraw it at any time. For the cloud Engineer we send only computed session facts, never raw GPS traces or video.
This website
The website is hosted by Vercel. As with any web server, Vercel processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the service. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.
Keeping and deleting your data
Data on your phone stays until you delete it. You can delete sessions, cars and videos in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. If you have an account, you can delete it from the web app’s settings. We disable it straight away and permanently remove your data shortly after.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. Most of your data never reaches us. For anything we do hold, email us and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
TRACK is for drivers at organised track events and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
When TRACK changes how it uses data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. If a change needs your consent, the app will ask you.
