GoPro HERO13 Black
The current flagship, with GPS in every file.
Mount a HERO13 Black for a sharper onboard view than the phone, and TRACK does the busywork: starting the recording, setting the clock, bringing the footage in and syncing it to every lap.
01What it adds to TRACK
What it adds to TRACK
- 01
Records when you do
Opt in and the camera starts and stops with your TRACK session. No reaching for the shutter in the pit lane.
- 02
Clock set from your phone
TRACK sets the camera’s clock when it connects, so footage and laps start out aligned.
- 03
Synced automatically
After the session, TRACK matches the camera’s motion data to your session and lines the video up with your laps, with the remaining uncertainty shown. You can nudge it by hand.
- 04
Broadcast overlays on your footage
Speed, delta, sectors and the track map drawn on the video in the same graphics as TRACK Live, ready to replay or export.
02How it connects
How it connects
- 1On the camera: Connections › Connect Device › Quik app (wording varies by model) to enter pairing mode.
- 2In TRACK: Connections › GoPro cameras › Scan, then tap the camera and accept the iOS pairing request.
- 3TRACK waits until the camera is ready, sets its clock and shows battery, SD card and recording status.
- 4After the session: Session report › Import GoPro footage over the camera’s Wi-Fi, or pick the file from Files.

04iPhone & Android
iPhone and Android
Bluetooth control and Wi-Fi import in the iPhone app (awaiting hardware validation).
Android app planned. GoPro’s open control API works on Android too.
The TRACK iPhone app is in beta. The Android app is planned.
05Where it stands
Tested, pending, and good to know.
- Bluetooth control implemented from GoPro’s published Open GoPro spec and tested against TRACK’s camera emulator.
- Telemetry parser tested on GoPro’s own published sample files.
- No physical GoPro has been connected to TRACK yet.
- Wi-Fi import needs Apple’s Hotspot Configuration entitlement for the TRACK app.
- Real-world sync accuracy (≈6–20 ms on synthetic tests) still has to be measured on a car.
- GoPro GPS can only be read after the file is written, so TRACK uses it to sync video and as a secondary trace, never for live lap timing.
- Live preview in TRACK’s pre-session check isn’t available yet.
Prices are typical US retail, checked October 2026, and change often. TRACK doesn’t sell hardware. GoPro and product names are trademarks of their owners and describe compatibility only; no partnership or endorsement is implied.
