RaceBox

RaceBox Mini S

25 Hz GPS that turns your phone into a precision lap timer.

Your iPhone updates its position about once a second. A RaceBox Mini S updates 25 times a second using four satellite systems at once, so TRACK sees exactly when you cross the timing line and how you used every metre of the corner.

01What it adds to TRACK

What it adds to TRACK

  • 01

    Timing you can trust

In TRACK’s timing tests on simulated laps, 25 Hz input cut the median lap-time error from 0.037 s (phone GPS) to 0.007 s. Every lap still shows its own uncertainty.

  • 02

    Sharper sectors and deltas

More position samples make the live delta steadier and sector splits fairer when laps are close.

  • 03

    Traces worth studying

Braking points, minimum corner speed and lines come out smooth enough to compare lap against lap.

  • 04

    Phone stays cool

The RaceBox does the satellite work; the phone can focus on video and the dash.

02How it connects

How it connects

  1. 1Charge the RaceBox and place it with a clear view of the sky (dash top or roof area).
  2. 2In TRACK: Garage › your car › Sensors › Add RaceBox, then pick it from the Bluetooth list.
  3. 3The live sensor test shows the update rate, last values and signal quality before you head out.
  4. 4Start a session as usual. TRACK aligns the RaceBox clock with the phone over Bluetooth.

05Where it stands

Tested, pending, and good to know.

Verified so far
  • Decoder built from RaceBox’s published protocol and tested on recorded data.
  • Clock alignment over Bluetooth tested in TRACK’s test suite.
Still to do
  • A physical unit still has to confirm the protocol field layout on current firmware.
Good to know
  • Use the RaceBox app for firmware updates; TRACK doesn’t update the device.

Prices are typical US retail, checked October 2026, and change often. TRACK doesn’t sell hardware. RaceBox and product names are trademarks of their owners and describe compatibility only; no partnership or endorsement is implied.
